Worldwide Candle Lighting Ceremony

On the second Sunday of December, chapters around the world hold their candle-lighting service. Join with other families and friends at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship to remember all of our children that have left us too soon. The program will start at 6:45, lighting candles at 7:00 p.m.

Please have a picture of your child along with a candle to set next to your child's photo if you wish (not required). We will provide candles for the lighting ceremony at 7:00 p.m. for the evening. Prior, if you wish to have your loved one included in the PowerPoint presentation, please email us a phone, birth, and death date along with family members to rochestertcf@gmail.com. Please send by December 5, 2024.
The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon.

Now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the annual Worldwide Candle Lighting, a gift to the bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends, creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone.
